Room: S100C

Session Number: SC1300

Confident Karl Fischer: An Interactive Moisture Method Development & Troubleshooting Course

Karl Fischer (KF) analysis is specific for water determination and can be performed on all sample types. There can be challenges associated with KF analysis such as side reactions, pH control and sample preparation. Understanding how to mitigate these challenges will help to develop methods for fast, accurate and reliable analysis. This new interactive course discusses the challenges of KF method development and provides case study examples from food and beverage, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, polymer and quality control laboratories. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of KF reagents, sample preparation techniques, and instrumentation for all sample types.
Instructor: Kerri-Ann Blake
Target Audience: This course is ideal for laboratory technicians, chemists, quality control personnel and all lab-related functions that utilize the technique.

8:30-12:30

Room: S100C

Session Number: SC1301

Practical Ion Chromatography: Successful Method Development

This course will introduce ion chromatography with practical, industry-based applications. Challenges encountered in real-world samples from environmental, petrochemical, chemical, power utility, and pharmaceutical applications will be discussed. Optimization of chromatographic conditions, column and detector selection, sample preparation and basic troubleshooting will be covered in this course.
Instructor: Jay Sheffer
