The Mundane Side of Environmental Testing: Alkalinity and Hardness Titrations

In reality, there’s nothing glamourous or mysterious about alkalinity and hardness titrations in water. There’s no controversial debate on how these titrations work or why they are important, but there is still room for improvement in how these titrations are executed in the lab. Analysts can spend many hours performing these tests using multiple meters and titrators wasting valuable time and effort. Utilizing automation to combine these tests on a single instrument improves testing accuracy, efficiency and data handling.

In this first part of a two-part Metrohm USA webinar series focused on environmental monitoring, we hear Dr. Scott Segro, Titration Applications Specialist at Metrohm USA, provide tips on how to implement and optimize standard water testing methods. He also shares how consolidating tests can improve lab efficiency.
